Megan Miller

PhD, RN

Megan Miller, PhD, RN (she/they) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing. She has been a Registered Nurse since 2015, gaining professional experience in hospice and palliative care, nursing education and health promotion across the lifespan. Megan completed her PhD at Michigan State University in 2020. Her dissertation research examined the impact of spirituality on pain experiences in women with advanced breast cancer in the context of integrative therapy interventions. She then completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, further examining the role of spirituality in cancer-related symptom experiences, and exploring applications of psychedelic-assisted therapy as a supportive care intervention.

Megan is passionate about expanding access to holistic, compassionate, and equitable palliative and end-of-life care. She is a co-creator of the Creative Dying Conversation Game, facilitator of Death Café Lansing/Madison, and a recent graduate of the California Institute of Integral Studies Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research.

In addition to her ongoing work, Megan looks forward to providing palliative care training for undergraduate nursing students, and collaborating to establish more equitable, inclusive, community-based, psychedelic-friendly palliative care centers.
